Marvel Heroes MMO to Use Unreal Engine 3
According to a recent press release, the upcoming Marvel Heroes MMO will be powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 3.
Studio head Jeff Lind said the following about the engine:
We [...] love the flexibility we get from the actor components, which have empowered us to make all kinds of customizations without sacrificing the built-in features of the engine.
Informally known as Marvel Universe Online — as it was clearly created to be a competitor to DC Universe Online — Marvel Heroes lets players take on the role of their favorite Marvel comic book heroes. DCU allows players to create their own heroes, and the degree of customization is incredible, but you could never actually be Batman, for instance.
The question is, what’s worse? Not being able to play Batman, or playing in a world with ten thousand Batmen?
