Mass Effect 1 Not Coming to PS3

IGN says an EA rep told them they have “no plans” to first the first Mass Effect game to the PS3, even though they are bringing the second to Sony’s console. There are probably legal issues in the way for now, since Microsoft published it back in 2007. However, EA published the PC port of that game, so the legal issues might be sortable, as it were. But for now, the only Mass Effect heading to PS3 is Mass Effect 2.

Well if they wanted to I’m sure they could fit both games on one disc right?

Absolutely. Bluray has a 25+ gig capacity.

I was going we’d at least get me1 as a downloadable game but I guess no dice. Still a kick in the crotch to m$.

Didn’t EA create the Mass Effect series? Why would they have problems with Microsoft then? They shouldn’t have a problem at all. Besides, I’m sure they would make quiet a lot more money if they converted to the PS3.

Mass Effect 1 was published by Microsoft. I’m sure they would make more money, but Microsoft probably would never let it happen.

Technically, both Mass Effect 1 and 2 were created by a collaborative effort by EA and Bioware (who as you all probably know made the other incredible RPG series Dragon Age). As such, I hope it’s possible for them to at least work out a downloadable version so that we on the PS3 can get to have all of the neat stuff that ports over to the second game. If not, I at least hope we get to choose some of that stuff at the beginning of ME2 (like who, if anyone, Shepard was involved with, or who died…).

I think its absolutely pointless in bringing ME2 out on ps3 if they are not going to bother bringing ME1 out too because I am playing on the pc currently but I am afraid ME3 may be a bit too much for my pc so I would alternatively buy it for ps3 but if I cant import my files from ME1 I wouldnt want to bother it would ruin the whole experience of playin ME.
