Mass Effect 2 PS3 Has a Save Corruption Issue That Is Being Patched

Apparently there is a bug (pictured) in the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 that causes the game to freeze, which then corrupts your saves. I didn’t run into this issue, but it’s out there, and BioWare has put together a patch to fix it. Now they’re just waiting for Sony to approve it and push it through.

But that’s not all the patch fixes. Here’s the rundown:

Patch Notes
-Fixed a crash related to memory fragmentation. This fix will also resolve the crashing that corrupted Save Games.
-Slightly improved load times and level streaming.
-Added some telemetry to better improve future titles.
-Updated some strings to fix spelling mistakes (Sorry Kaidan!)
-Fixed the picture frame in Shepard’s Cabin to accurately reflect your love interest choices in Mass Effect: Genesis.
-Fixed a rare crash in the PSN version in Shepard’s Cabin.

Slightly improve load times? At least it’s something. That picture goof is pretty funny, also. My love of choice was Liara, but Kaiden was in the picture.

Look for this patch sometime soon.
