Mass Effect 3 Alt-Ending Comic Marauder Shields is Getting Intense

It’s been a while since we checked in with Koobismo’s Mass Effect alternate ending webcomic, “Marauder Shields,” and that’s a shame — because s–t is getting intense.

The newest episode, No. 50: “Saints and Sinners,” is live today, featuring some pretty hectic battles on the occupied Citadel. Commander Bailey and C-Sec have teamed with survivors, including Omega’s Pirate Queen, Aria, to fight off advancing Reaper forces and protect the civilians still found there. Let’s just say, the battles are not without their casualties.

And then there’s No. 49, “Cavalry,” which has to be a fan-favorite, given that it shows something we’ve all wanted since before Mass Effect 3 hit shelves: various alien species putting aside their historical differences to kick Reaper ass side-by-side. It’s a bad-ass episode.

Hit up Koobismo.com to check out the new eps and let us know what you think of the developing story in the comments. And if this is your first time checking out “Marauder Shields,” you’ll want to keep in mind a couple things: first, they start at the end of the events on Earth in ME3 (and totally throw out the canonical ending of the game aboard the Citadel), and second, things really start around Ep. 6.

(Full disclosure: Phil Hornshaw is a member of the Koobismo.com crew and occasionally contributes to articles, interviews, and Koobismo.com’s fiction projects.)

Another fine entry in the this awesome and epic fan homage to the spirit of the story. Thanks for continuing to hold the line, Koobs!

I’ve been a fan of Marauder Shields from day one and continue to enjoy Koobismo’s vision. The question is when he finishes will someone put the entire run into a nice continuous comic?

Still think the name should have been changed once it became serious. ‘Marauder Shields’ is still thought of as a joke.
