Male Shepard Romance Guide

Female Shepard Romance Guide

NOTE: All serious relationships are final! You can only have one romantic relationship. Entering one will nullify others.

Rule of Thumb: Always choose Polite or Paragon choices while talking to potential partners. Generally, those are the upper choice, with Impolite or Renegade options below.

How To Romance Garrus

Garrus

  • Prerequisite: Garrus must survive the events of ME2, and you must start a relationship with him in ME2. Only available for Female Shepard.
  • After Garrus joins your squad again, if you’re playing Female Shepard and imported a save where you were romantic with Garrus in ME2, he’ll mention rekindling your relationship.
  • Speak with Garrus in the main battery of the Normandy, and meet him in the Citadel whenever you can to talk. He’ll usually send you an e-mail, check them regularly and stop by when he e-mails and requests to talk.
  • After the missions on Tuchanka, you can talk to Garrus in the cockpit. You’ll be able to keep talking to him between missions, just keep checking and choosing friendly responses that indicate your interest in a relationship.
  • Once enough trust is built up, Garrus will offer to meet in the Citadel. From there, he’ll ask you to commit to a serious relationship.
  • Before heading out on the final mission against the Reapers, you’ll experience an “intimate” scene with Garrus and Shepard.

didn’t even SEE garrus in the lower decks of the citadel and only chatted him up once there. already through the tuchanka & citadel missions, pretty deep. had the romance talk with him when he first joined and nothing since. does missing the chats on the citadel ruin the romance option? i haven’t received emails or any romance’y chat since the first talk- getting a bit worried i lost ‘im

Hey Kris!

After the Tuchanka mission, have you tried checking the bridge of the Normandy? You might find him talking to Joker there.

Otherwise, Garrus is slow to start chatting you up. After Tuchanka, he’ll start talking to you more often and requesting to see you through e-mail. ALSO! If you’re on the Normandy or the Citadel, check your map often. You can cycle through the different areas and see where Garrus is waiting.

You should be alright if you missed any of the early dialogue. As long as you’ve had a romantic relationship with him imported from ME2, you should have your foot in the door.

I sort of have the same problem. I went to visit garrus after every mission, checked up on him on the citadel, and after tuchanka I went to the bridge to talk to him. There weren’t any romantic hints there. When i went back to check my mail i found out that only Liara had mailed me to see me in my room.
Is it possible that Garrus will mail me later perhaps?

ps, i romanced Garrus in ME2

Hey Aeris,

Don’t worry, sometimes Garrus won’t want to talk for a few missions. Often other characters will request to see you, and that’ll happen more often as you play through the game. Garrus hasn’t forgotten about you, it just feels like it sometimes! Just give it a little more time, and pay attention to your e-mail and what Traynor has to say!

[May Have Spoilers!]

I’ve been romancing Garrus, and I’ve spoken with him in the bridge, but I haven’t gotten much out of him since then. I’ve done the Tachunka, and saved Eve. (Cried when Mordin died, cried harder when Thane died. ;n; His wish.) But, I haven’t made any significant drops with Garrus. I’m not sure if I’m in time with all things. Kaidan just asked me to be an “us” again, and he’s all well and good, but my Reaper whooping booty belongs to Garrus. (this is of course, after the citadel attack) Am I still on the right track, or is all hope lost forever?<3 Koda

Hello Koda,

You should still be on the right track! Sometimes it feels like ages before your romantic partner will want to talk to you again, but don’t lose hope, there’s still lots of story missions to go!

I romanced Garrus in ME2, yet I forgot to talk to him right after the Menae mission (where he asks if I would still like to be with him). I did other missions, and have spoken to him at every other opportunity. I already got Kaidan’s, Treynor’s and Liara’s ‘dates’ (refused them of course), yet I haven’t gotten Garrus’s email! Will I still have the chance?
