Mass Effect 3 Leviathan and Firefight DLC (Officially) Revealed

BioWare has revealed additional details about the upcoming new single-player DLC chapter for Mass Effect 3. Set during the events of the main story, Leviathan involves Shepard’s search for a secret entity rumored to be powerful enough to destroy a reaper (Crucible what?). As he/you does this, additional history of the Reapers will be revealed. You’ll also meet new NPCs and find fresh weapons (AT-12 Raider shotgun and M-55 Argus Assault Rifle).

The Firefight pack, due out August 7th, is a more modest addition, adding two new weapons and five “bonus weapons” (whatever those are) to the single-player experience. The pack will cost you $2.

Bioware plans to release Leviathan “later this Summer” at a cost of $10.

Additional details can be found at BioWare’s blog.

I don’t see me playing this at all. I don’t see the point of adding “pre”-ending DLC, if you already know how the whole things ends.

IGN said this DLC will change the endings in some manner but in what sense? Adding extra epilogues? a new destroy ending?

Anyway i dont care and i still love Mass Effect 3 and i will take whatever they throw at us free or not.

I like where this DLC seems to be going and all I can say is when and just take my money. The general feeling since EC is this and further DLC will effect the endings more than one might think.

So they make a crappy game and put a little band-aid on it and you guys eat it up the nibblits hanging around?

No wonder they keep making crap games like this, because people will buy it.

Games like this should not be rewarded for a jig-saw puzzle storyline and dlc that is required for an enjoyable experience.

It would take alot to convince me that this dlc is worth getting. Now if they released a piece of dlc that happened after the main story then consider me 20 bucks poorer.

so according to IGN(who unfortunately usually gets these things right though it doesnt make me like them any more): http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/03/leviathan-add-on-will-change-mass-effect-3s-ending
The dlc will somehow be changing the ending again, somehow I doubt the third ending version will be the charm…wont be getting my money

Evernessince is coming across as a whiny baby with retards disease! I can’t believe anyone would criticise ME3 and refuse to acknowledge why, and I also still believe it’s a minority. Please, bend me over and screw me more, Bioware! I have more money than sense, for god’s sake take it from me! I’ll still love it even if it’s crap, and I’ll still post mindless dross on Gamefront even though I keep telling people I don’t want to be here and I’ll also keep replying to their replies even though I say I won’t! Rape me, Bioware! Don’t use lube!

Another idiot who pretend to be me. If you have taken your time to read the comments on another news posted last week you will have noticed that i writed an apologies letter about my trolling and immature manner since the release of the extended cuts. I said in my other comment that i was sorry for what i said before and i understand the point of view of the angry fans about what was wrong in Mass Effect 3 but i was still a big Mass Effect fan no matter what and i still loved Mass Effect 3 as a game. I have also said i will make more mature and constructive comments and stopping to being a troll.

Also have you realised that my comment here in that article was not hostile against anybody and i talked inteligently about my interest in the Leviathan DLC without calling everyone whinners? And if your problem is not the fact i was a troll before but the fact i still love Mass Effect 3 as a game and i still have faith in Bioware you have some problem in your head. I have the right to love and to buy anything i want or spend my money in anything i want. If you are done with Bioware or Mass effect fine but accept the idea that many peoples will still like what YOU hate now.

And to prove to the mods i’ve changed my manners i now post my comments with my true email address.

Another person who pretend to be me by using hostile comments and insulting words. If you had taken your time reading some other comments in another news posted last week you will have noticed that i writed an apology letter about my immature and trolling manner since the release pf the Extended Cuts. Just check my recent post here in that article, have you realised that i never called anyone a whinners and just said i was interested in the Leviathan DLC without insulting anybody?

PS: Sorry if i probably double posted that message.

And if your problem is the fact that i still love Mass Effect 3 as a game or still have faith in Bioware just try to live with that, i have the right to buy and love whatever i want. Is my problem not yours accept it.

Again the time when i was a troll is now gone.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFq531vkNOY – that’s all you need to know why ME3 is a poorly made game

I believe as a consumer I have a right to comment on a product when I feel it is bad. You are just downright disrespectful and obviously don’t care for social graces. Oh yeah when did I even “refuse to acknowledge” ME3′s mistakes. Yeah your right, ME3 only have a retake mass effect movement, so enough people must have thought it bad. I would talk about the good old days of baulder’s gate, but I bout you have played that game since you sound like a 8 year old COD player.

But is not me who have commented above you, i dont even know you. This guy pretend to by me. I stopped being a troll and i try to be nice now. And i writed an apologies letter for what i said when i was a troll. And i know what was wrong with Mass Effect 3 and i understand you. Is just i still love it as a game.

Again the guy above you is an imposter.

But is not me who have commented above you, i dont even know you. This guy imporsanated me. I really stopped being a troll and i even expressed my apologies for having irritating peoples here in another post. I understand what was wrong with ME3. Like i said before i still love Mass Effect 3 as a game and still have faith in Bioware but i now understand all of you peoples. And like i said the one above you is an imposter.

And i remember the good old days of baldur’s gate or Knight of the old republic. And i’m not a COD player, i dont hate COD but i’m not a fan.

Can’t really tell who is who so all I will say is that each person is entitled to his/her own opinion and I think that mass effect 3 could have been allot better. If was not the worst game in the world at all. I just don’t like the way Bioware does business anymore.

Wesker1984

On August 4, 2012 at 10:40 pm

You are right Evernessince and i have nothing against your point of view and i even understand your opinions. It exactly what i’ve said before in my apologies letter, i explained what the Mass Effect series means to me and why i now understand the opinions of all of you. Me to i was disapointed by many points and tryed to hide my anger under a mask but i changed. I still like Mass Effect 3 as a game and still have faith in Bioware but i admit now that Mass Effect 3 could have been and should have been much more. I understand you.

And i admit a few weeks ago i was a complete troll after the release of the Extended Cuts and now some peoples decided to impersonate me trying to humiliate me. But like i said before i changed and i try to be nice with everyone by explaining my opinions with maturity.

Saying i still love Mass Effect 3 as a game do not means i find everybody stupid because they hated it for what was done in this game, i understand them now and i have nothing against them.. Still loving this game is my right and is not a sin. And this Leviathan DLC look good and i want to buy that add-on and even if the endings are not altered by it i’m still curious to discover this part of the story.

Again to all the peoples i have irritate i’m sorry! I’m on your side now. I’m still fan of the Mass Effect franchise but i also understand all your angers about ME3.

Maybe I will play mass effect 3 again with all the dlc. The game has it’s flaws, but it is still the only game that can do what it does. Much like borderlands

Mark

On August 5, 2012 at 6:34 pm

I’m of the opinion that the extended cut sucked.

So any talk of further altering the ending to something somewhat digestable is something that sparks my interest for the simple fact that I’m not yet satisfied.

Gamer41

On August 5, 2012 at 8:05 pm

@Mark

So you would rather have that ending that shipped with the game instead of a somewhat better DLC ending? Well Mark your opinion is wrong.it maybe your opinion but its still wrong.

Mark

On August 5, 2012 at 9:00 pm

@Gamer41

Just because the extended cut was better than the original ending doesn’t mean that it was good.

Before you start telling people that they’re wrong, perhaps you should work on your reasoning skills.

Wesker1984

On August 5, 2012 at 9:40 pm

I understand what Mark try to say. Even if the Extended Cuts polished some flaws in Mass Effect 3 the contents still have problems in the direction of how Shepard’s journey ends. The game needed a complete new ending instead having just the same flawed endings with extended/altered scenes. Dont get me wrong i loved the Extended cuts but the game still need the ending everyone want. I hope the Leviathan add-on will give us a big impact to the end of the game instead of being just a great single-player experience.

@gamer41

I think what he means is, he would rather have an ending that working in the original. BIoware should not have had to been forced by their fans to change it, they had to save face.

Zach

On August 5, 2012 at 10:30 pm

So what exactly are they going to explain about the reapers that the awful star-child didn’t make clear in his two sentences about them?

I’m more curious as to whether or not this DLC will sell considering a vast majority of the fans are still bitter about the broken ending.

It really says something about how much people loved these characters and this series when they still feel betrayed so many months later.

Mark

On August 5, 2012 at 10:37 pm

Yeah my opinion is more along the lines of what Wesker said except I don’t think the extended cut was good at all except when you compare it to the original ending.

But that’s like a fat person telling themselves they aren’t overweight after comparing themselves to a Sumo wrestler.
