Mass Effect 3 Patch 4 Is Gigantic

Later this week, patch 4 for Mass Effect 3 will be deployed to users on all platforms. Unlike previous patches, this one is truly epic, the largest (I believe) in the history of the series. BioWare’s Chris Priestly has broken it down on the official forums. Because of the tremendous size of the patch, we’re not going to relate the whole thing, but a few highlights for your convenience:

* Fixed tutorial tip that didn’t properly display an unbound command
* Players can no longer grab Geth Pyros over cover
* Singularity power re-designed (including base cooldown changed to 8 seconds and base power sets up biotic combos on everyone that comes into range.)
* Fixed various weapon sound-replications for clients
* Fixed an exploit that allowed players to be invincible and invisible to enemies

This is seriously about 3% of the total number of changes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t make the story any better, and the ending is as cheap as ever, but the game should function a lot better, if you’re still playing. Check out the official page for more.

and yet…nobody cares….sad though. It’s like Bioware is deluding itself.

From what I can tell, the update is MP centric, and since I got bored with that a long time ago, it’s hard to care.

Fixed everything but the ending then? Shame.

Since the week of release there have been literally thousands of individual player posts on the Bioware and EA forums demanding xbox 360 controller and gamepad support for PC. That still hasn’t happened. It couldn’t possibly require a lot of work to implement with a 360 template in place. EA pulled the same with battlefield 3 for PC, they have 360 controller support but quick time events have never worked, thus controller support is useless.

Yet they have time to implement significant balance changes? The morons in charge of these companies need to go for the low-hanging fruit.

At least there is entertainment value in watching the once mighty Bioware implode. It is like watching the titanic sink; it makes the crappy ending worth it in a macabre sort of way. I honestly thought the original ending cut scene where we see “Joker’s run” was meant to be a joke which made it even more funny when I realized Bioware was serious (I thought it was a reference to Gilligan’s Island…I expected to hear the theme song).

Who gives a ? Apart from Wesker, Hunter, lol, Lilith and a (relative) handful of other diehard fanboys, nobody cares enough about this game anymore to bother with this, especially if it’s going to be a huge burden on their hard drives. It’s the death knell of a once respected franchise, and much of the mainstream media still seems corrupt and/or stupid enough to enter the grave alongside it instead of admitting their mistake and apologising for blatant elitism at the expense of facts.

If i was still playing this game I would seriously question why I’m unable to grab Geth Pyros anymore.

I mean did they start greasing them up or something? It just makes no sense.
