BioWare Announces Mass Effect 3 Pre-Order Goodies

Mass Effect 3 is coming soon. Oh, you’ve heard of it? So I don’t need to spend several paragraphs extolling the series’ many virtues and reiterating for the millionth time how incredibly impatient we all are for the game to finally come out? Good. Then I can skip to the good stuff.

In a press release issued this morning, Bioware announced the free DLC for people who preorder Mass Effect 3; it isn’t anything like the Mercenary pack that came with ME2, (though based on a major super spoiler in The Art Of Mass Effect, I believe there will be a launch day DLC story and character pack, probably free), but it’s cool nonetheless.

First up, if you pre-order at participating retailers, you’ll get the M55 Argus Assault Rifle. But that’s just for people worldwide. Those of us in the US and Canada get a little – actually, a lot – something extra:

* N7 Warfare Gear (exclusive to GameStop and EB Games), which comes with N7 Valkyrie Assault Rifle, N7 Defender Armor (featuring improved shields and health, more ammo and more weapons damage.

* AT-12 Raider Shotgun (exclusive to [ugh] Origin: It’s basically a boomstick in space that offers rapid fire and increased reload speed compared to other shotguns.

And because it wouldn’t be a press release without the actual press release, click on to read the whole thing…

So basicly a bunch of stuff that will either be day 1 DLC or Pay for DLC down the line.
