Mass Effect 3 to Launch on all Platforms Simultaneously

Everyone here at GameFront was fired up after seeing the Mass Effect 3 trailer at Saturday night’s VGAs. We’re even more excited this morning, since EA has given us more good news regarding Mass Effect 3.

In a press release giving a scant few details on the game, EA announced one major fact, saying,

Mass Effect 3 is set to launch globally in holiday 2011 on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and the PC — this marks the first time the Mass Effect franchise will launch on all three major platforms simultaneously.

We thought this might be the case now that Mass Effect 2 is definitely coming to PS3. Still, it’s nice to have it confirmed . You have to wonder how many PS3 copies will be sold, since carrying overyour save game is such a huge part of the appeal of the series. Will it only be new players on Sony’s console? We’ll have to wait and see.

If you’re into reading press releases, you can find this one right here.
