Mass Effect 3 Topples EA’s Pre-Order Targets

No matter how much Mass Effect fans might whine, bitch and moan about literally everything in Mass Effect 3, they have demonstrated that they’re more than happy to toss their cash at Electronic Arts anyway. Mass Effect 3 has more than adequately surpassed EA’s pre-order targets and is “well ahead” of Mass Effect 2′s own numbers.

“For the core Mass Effect fan, we’ve been building on the immersive nature of the game with a host of trailers, social media activity and fan site activation,” said product manager Will Graham. “Currently our pre-orders have broken the targets set, we are well ahead of where we were at the same point with Mass Effect 2 and we have all of the platforms aligned for launch, which is a first for the Mass Effect franchise. Mass Effect 3 follows on from a 96 Metacritic-rated game and everything suggests that the third iteration in the franchise is going to have the same, if not better, quality.”

There is little doubt that Mass Effect 3 will be one of the biggest games of the year, regardless (or possibly because of) how controversial it has been. At this rate, there’s no stopping a series that many fans now view with as much reverence and obsession as Star Wars. Now if only I could like it.

What controversy? Same-Sex, Alien Sex?

The game runs beautifully, the gameplay is fun, the PC version doesn’t feel like a port.
