Mass Effect’s Kimberly Brooks Talks Voice Over, Working in Games

Kimberly Brooks, probably best known for her voice work on the Mass Effect series as Ashley Williams, has become a pretty prolific person in the voice over industry. She talks about all kinds of topics, from working in games and cartoons to interacting with fans at conventions, in a big new interview over at

The audio interview clocks in at about 40 minutes, with’s Jeff and me playing host. (Full disclosure: I play interviewer and occasionally do some writing as part of the team.) In it, Brooks fields a number of topics, including a discussion of some of her work with BioWare and how she fell, somewhat, into the role of Williams. Also worth noting — she’s never actually played Mass Effect, and has only recently become aware of the game’s scope and its fanbase.

We’ve got the interview embedded below, and you can see and hear more over at, as well.

Awesome interview. I’ve always had much respect for VA’s and love finding out about the people behind the characters I love and grew up with. (Apparently Billy West voiced just about my entire childhood :P )
