Max Payne 3 Gets Bumped

max_payne_logoRockstar’s Max Payne 3 had been set for release sometime in Take-Two’s fourth quarter in fiscal year 2010, which ends October 31, but the provision was that either that, Mafia II, Civilization V or LA Noire would be moved out of that window into fiscal year 2011. Max Payne won that lottery, according to today’s Take-Two Q2 2010 financial report, as it is the only one of those titles not on the list of titles set for a Q4 2010 release, and because the report flat-out says, “The launch of Max Payne 3 has been moved out of fiscal 2010.” How much of a bump this would be is unknown at this time, so the game might still get a holiday release, but it feels more likely that it will hit in the actual year 2011, just because the end of this year is already crowded enough.

I might be just a little bit bitter, though, because who the hell cares about Civ V? Thankfully, at least, we’ll get a new Carnival Games title to dull the payne, er, pain.

Calm down, everybody. Everything in that last paragraph was just a joke! Don’t hurt me!
