Mechanic Infantry’s Concept Art Shows a Creepy, Robot-Run World (SCREENSHOTS)

Today while whipping up our first search through the annals of indie gaming, The Daily Independent, I stumbled on an interesting and pretty tough 2-D platformer called Mechanic Infantry. And along with it, I discovered some of its beautiful and creepy concept art.

Check out the gallery below for a few screens from the game and the concepts that helped create it. Though story’s a little thin, the game seems to presuppose a robot-governed world in which the little TV set guys are forced to scavenge for electricity at the risk of their own lives. And the entire world seems to be a junk heap wasteland, often dark and foreboding. It’s kind of awesome.

Oh, and the game is pretty fun too. Check out its site (and maybe buy it — it’s only $2.99 and quite a bit of fun) here.
