MechAssault Team Readies New F2P Mech Shooter “Reign of Thunder”
We hope you like particle effects, because Day 1 Studios certainly does. The developers behind 2002 Xbox title MechAssault are back in the BattleTech universe, touting a fast-paced, third-person F2P shooter. The trailer below shows off the aforementioned visual wizardry, along with the game‘s other features, like extensive customization.
For now, the game’s official site is just a forum. Expect that to change as the game gears up for release, joining a sudden glut of Mech games that includes MechWarrior Online and MechWarrior Tactics. Which one will prevail? Can the market bear so many Mech games at once? Stay tuned.

it’s f*cking shocking .. and disgusting how long we’ve been waiting out here for those morons who own the mech franchise to come up with a product. they’re sitting on a multi millions of dollars franchise with their thumbs up their asses.
and … hey this looks good … but don’t forget that everybody out here ain’t 21. fast, frenetic action is not everybody’s cup of tea … or ability. i’d like to think that i could get in there and not get my balls blown off in five seconds.
anyway … graphics look good.
