Mechwarrior Online Pretties Itself Up in Latest Patch

There is a special kind of beauty reserved for things like BattleMechs. They may not be all that sleek, but at least they look incredibly dangerous! The latest patch for the competitive stompy-robot simulation Mechwarrior Online is out, and it brings a host of changes to make you feel better about your appearance.

The biggest change in this patch is easily the overhaul to the camo system. The drastic widening of colors available gives pilots some much-needed variety, and both colors and camo patterns now unlock permanently (assuming you purchase the permanent option). Since the patch dropped, I’ve been seeing much more unique-looking ‘Mechs floating around in matches. It’s pretty funny to see a lime green and bubblegum pink Atlas attempt to hide in the trees. I can see you!

Some other changes include the addition of the Pretty Baby (what an aptly named ‘Mech for this update), the addition of new cockpit items related to the Year of the Snake, sneaky balance changes to high-end energy weapons, and general performance tweaks that have drastically improved the framerate for pretty much everybody. You can take a look at the patch notes over at the game’s website.
