Medal of Honor: Warfighter Gameplay Footage and Release Date Revealed
If there’s one differentiating factor Medal of Honor has over Call of Duty and Battlefield, it’s that it tries harder than its genre buddies to draw from reality. At EA’s E3 press conference today, a portion of one of Warfighter’s missions was shown. 2010′s Medal of Honor heavily promoted its consultation of actual Tier 1 operators and centered gameplay around their advice; Warfighter will do the same, only this time you’ll be playing as elite soldiers from all around the world, partaking in missions connected to actual events and/or places.
Still, we saw a whole lot of samey shooting along with a very cliche slow-motion door breaching. At least the game looks visually amazing, running beautifully on the Frostbite 2 engine. And it definitely appears to be a step up in almost every facet in comparison to the previous game.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter is set to release October 23, 2012. You can see the game in action below:
