Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Beaten in Under Four Minutes

A speedrunner has beaten Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes A speedrunner has beaten Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes in less than four minutes.

The speedrun comes from Reddit user Mimalmo who posted footage of his successful run on YouTube and then reported it on Reddit. He completed the game in a record three minutes and 54.87 seconds. His rank for the playthrough was S.

While Mimalmo has obviously practiced this more than a few times, he attributes his swift finish and high score in no small part to the game’s Reflex Mode which slows time for a few seconds when the player is spotted so they can eliminate enemies before they can sound the alarm.

Using this option he was able to run through pretty much the entirety of the mission, popping enemies in the skull with a tranquilizer dart whenever they got the inclination to ruin his perfect score. All in all, while this run certainly does work to emphasize just how freaking short the story portion of Ground Zeroes is from start to finish.

You seem to have a lot of superfluous words cluttering up your article.

So that’s 55.27
As I have never heard of 87 seconds in a minute.

@rickshaw, you got it wrong. It wasn’t 54 minutes, 87 seconds. It was 3 minutes, 54.87 seconds. A second does have 100 hundredths.

Yeah, the reflex thing is one of a few things I didn’t like. Other Metal Gear games would give you a bit of time before a guard alerted his buddies, but it didn’t give you such a major leg up like this.
