Metal Gear Solid Movie Finds a Director

The long in the works Metal Gear Solid movie may have finally found a director.

That, at least, is what been suggested by recent reports which have pointed to Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) as the man who will be holding the reins of the film. While there has been no official confirmation yet, Vogt-Roberts himself put out some heavy hints last month on his Twitter feed pointing toward his involvement in this project.

Even if Vogt-Roberts does sign on however, there will likely still be a lot of skepticism as to whether this movie will ever be released. It has, after all, already been in the works for several years with nothing concrete coming out of it. And even if the movie did eventually release there’s no guaranteeing that it would be anything worth watching. While we don’t to make judgments about something that doesn’t even exist yet, it’s worth remembering that Hollywood has a tendency to butcher game-based films, even ones based on franchises far less convoluted than the Metal Gear series. As with all things however, we’ll just have and see how it all turns out.
