The Halo 3 beta has now officially come and gone and if you’re not dead right now with your head in an oven somewhere, then congratulations on surviving the Halo 3 beta withdrawal.  Now that you are back to being a productive member of society, Microsoft wants to remind you of how much fun you had with the beta with some “groundbreaking” statistics.

  • The Halo 3 beta had a total of 820,000 unique participants
  • More than 12 MILLION hours of online gameplay occurred during the betas short time
  • The new “Save Film” feature, in which players were able to save their favorite matches to show off to friends and trade with one another was a success with over more than 580,000 saved films
  • Gamers who downloaded the beta accounted for 350 TB of data that was downloaded from the Microsoft servers

So now that we experienced the beta and have seen the aftermath of what the beta has done, we can all look ahead to the official launch date (Sept 25) with as much hype and anticipation as the beta brought.
