Microsoft Setting Up For Its Biggest Layoffs Ever

Microsoft may be preparing to lay off thousands of its employees in the coming weeks.

That, at least, is what has been suggested by sources close to the company who have reported that “organization changes” promised by CEO Satya Nadella last week could result in the loss of thousands of jobs in its engineering and marketing sectors, especially in relation to its Nokia mobile phone business.

While the unnamed sources behind this report indicated that the current round of restructuring is still in its planning phases, the firings could apparently commence as early as next week and may even eclipse the company’s 2009 layoffs which rose as high as 5,800. We’ll keep you updated on this story, and any potential effect it has on the Xbox brand as more details unfold.
