Microsoft has announced that they have taken action today against those gamers who have gained Gamerscore points and Achievements through cheating. Some of the more serious offenders have probably found a nice welcome on their 360 today showing that their Gamerscore has been reset to zero. Besides that, they can no longer gain those lost achievements ever again and their account on Xbox.com and personal Gamercard now clearly identifies them as a cheater. They can still gain future achievements through fair means, but yes, they’ve essentially received the Xbox Live version of a tar and feathering. Ah, sweet internet justice.

and when they say cheated, does that include gamesaves and buying consoles and games from other regions, a la stripclubDJ?

lol, that would count as cheating if you work your way up from the game saves, but then again Microsoft can have a different point of view. That is a truly good question to ask them lol
