Mike Patton Will Voice The Darkness Again (Hooray!)
Good news, Darkness fans — Mike Patton, formerly of Faith No More, is reprising his role as The Darkness in the upcoming sequel to the FPS of the same name. Which is great, and helping to ensure that that game won’t suck.
According to Faith No More information source Caca Volante, Patton’s set to do the 2K Games title when it drops later this year. Patton has done voice work for lots of games and is a gamer himself, and appeared in Left 4 Dead and Portal, among other things.
The Darkness was a pretty awesome character in the first go-round, constantly chiding protagonist Jackie Estacado and prodding him to become more and more corrupted by the demonic presence as it pushes him toward all-out mobster revenge. Patton means the game will at least have an appropriately cool devil on the player’s shoulder (literally).
