MineCon Attendees Get Free Cobalt, Scrolls Alpha Access
To say that Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson and his studio Mojang AB are a success story is a bit of an understatement. Since Minecraft first appeared on the Internet in 2009, the genial Swede the company he founded have gone from total unknowns to hosting their own convention in sunny Las Vegas, NV.
The reasons for this triumph and Minecraft’s wild popularity are many, but one has always been obvious. Notch and Mojang care about the fans. It should come as no surprise, therefore, that attendees at the first annual Minecon in the City of Sin will be going home with special perks.
They’ll get to play Cobalt — a strange, side-scrolling sandbox game with customizable levels — for free. And, thanks to alpha access, they’ll be among the first people to try Scrolls, Mojang’s legally embattled take on the collectible card game.
