Minecraft 1.6 Pre-Release Now Available, Yee-Haw!
Minecraft 1.6 sees the addition of horses, donkeys, and mules—mounts, in other words. It’s not set for release for another week, but you can play it now if you’re willing to deal with a few leftover bugs that the developers are still busy catching.
Available as a pre-release version, you can pick up Minecraft 1.6, also known as the “Horse Update”, directly from Mojang’s website here, where it’s available for the PC, Mac OSX, and Linux.
Keep in mind that you’ll need to download the game’s new launcher to get it up and running.

- Added Horses
- Added Donkeys, Mules
- Added Horse Armor
- Added Leads
- Added Carpets
- Added Hardened Clay, Stained Clay
- Added Block of Coal
- Added Name Tags (item)
- Added Hay Bales
- Texture packs are now “resource packs” that also can hold sound etc
- Food meter is now drained when healed by full food meter
- Removed Herobrine
