Minecraft on Xbox 360 Surpasses 1 Million Sales

Apparently the latent market for people who wished they could play Minecraft but only if it was available on their Xbox 360s was huge, but sales of the game have already hit 1 million and it’s only been available for a week.

At 1,600 MS Points, or $20, a pop, that’s roughly a s–tload of money earned by the new version of Minecraft in just a week. It seems people love their splitscreen multiplayer.

Here’s a quote full of stats from Microsoft’s official press release:

With more than 5.2M total online hours of gamers mining away, 4M total multiplayer sessions played, and more than 2.4M multiplayer gaming hours played, “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” is showing that it’s not only selling well, but that gamers are remaining highly engaged, wandering through new vistas and exploring caves with their friends.
