Minecraft Sold its Third Million Copy

According to a tweet from Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson, Minecraft sold its third million copy earlier today. This should come as no surprise, given the game has been selling like hotcakes since September 2010 and its modding community is more active than the player bases of some recent AAA titles. Hell, people have even proposed to their girlfriends in Minecraft.

Minecraft will (finally) launch out of beta during the Minecraft convention on November 18-19. If you’re late to the Minecraft craze, you can try out the free Minecraft demo, and when that urges you to buy the game, be sure to check out some of the many cool Minecraft mods out there.
