Mirror’s Edge 2 Team Working With Real Parkour Artists to Gameplay

Electronic Art has given players an early glimpse into the development of Mirror’s Edge 2.

The game, which was showcased in a presentation at the company’s E3 press briefing today, will apparently go the distance to maintain the original game’s minimalist design while also taking steps to refine its gameplay.

Toward this end, the game’s development team at DICE has confirmed that it is working with real-life parkour artists to tailor the game’s moves so that they’re both more realistic and work better within the game itself. The studio also confirmed that Faith, the protagonist of the first Mirror’s Edge, will be returning for the next outing. The game will also feature multiple paths through levels to allow for diverse strategies as well as faster movement speed, one hit kills and a focus on maintaining forward momentum.

All of this is likely to come as good news for fans of the franchise who are likely still smiling about that a sequel will be happening at all.
