Mirror's Edge Getting the Comic Book Treatment

I probably should have seen this one coming. EA’s been working with DC’s “Wildstorm” label to give a lot of their new IPs their own comic, so it seems only natural that Mirror’s Edge would follow suit. In fact, the first issue of a planned six in the series will be distributed at the upcoming Comic-Con in San Diego. The comic will introduce readers to the futuristic world that Faith, the game‘s protagonist, lives in. The story will be crafted by the game’s writer and story designer, Rhianna Pratchett, along with artist Matthew Dow Smith.

“This partnership with DC Comics sets the stage as readers explore Faith’s world in Mirror’s Edge,” said Owen O’Brien, Senior Producer, DICE. “The unique graphic style offered by the comic book genre is perfect for taking fans through her back-story. Frame by frame, page by page, we’ll learn more about the events that shaped both her and the city.”

Will this comic explain the bizarre events that led to the whole city being painted white and red? Only time will tell.

Hrn, I’m hesistant to bite onto this. Most comic adaptations of games are garbage. Soo, I’ll have to see after SDCC folk start commenting on it.
