MLG Reveals Extensive Dota 2 Plans Including NA League

Major League Gaming is expanding into the Dota 2 scene in a big way. Not only will the eSports giant run a robust, North American Dota 2 league and showcase the game on the 2014 Pro Circuit, it will also highlight the Dota 2 competition via weekly programming.

With a $210,000 prize pool, the league is set to begin January 6, 2014, and will culminate with a $150,000 tournament at the MLG Championship in Anaheim, CA, from June 20-22, 2014. Apart from the teams that qualify, the top four North American teams competing at the MLG Championship in Columbus, Ohio from November 22-24 will be invited to compete — I wouldn’t be surprised to see Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid make the cut.

You’ll be able to start tuning in to MLG’s Dota 2 action starting today. Programming will air on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 6pm ET at www.majorleaguegaming.com. Moving into 2014, MLG will roll out even more Dota 2 content highlighting league competition, Pro Circuit Championship events and more.
