Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack Dated

With all the hullabaloo over Infinity Ward, it’s easy to forget that they are still working on a second DLC pack of new multiplayer maps for the first-person shooter.

Now, they’ve finally told us when this DLC will be released: June 3rd. The Resurgence Pack will contain five new multiplayer maps, but I can’t tell you what it will cost you. Activision hasn’t shared that information yet (nor have they told us anything about the maps themselves), but the first map pack ran $15 and sold millions, so I wouldn’t look for a price cut this time around.

The big question now is whether or not this means the end of Infinity Ward, as Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey predicted in late April, when he said, “We expect Infinity Ward studio will be essentially closed after their next map pack release, with development work on Modern Warfare 3 spread between two studios not historically tied to the franchise.”

What do you think? Is Infinity Ward essentially done now, or will they make a shining comeback with Modern Warfare 3?
