Modern Warfare 3 Child Death Scene Video (SPOILERS)

SPOILERS BELOW!

This started last week, when a certain Modern Warfare 3 gameplay video was leaked to YouTube, and then pulled down almost immediately by Activision. We knew it was violent, something about London, a family on a street, dad filming, and a kid getting blown up.

Now that the game has officially launched, the apparent kid-blowing-up video has returned, and I imagine it’ll stay up on YouTube now. The scene takes place in London, towards the end of Modern Warfare 3′s first act. Unlike Modern Warfare 2′s infamous “No Russian” scene, in which the player had the option to kill innocent civilians in an airport, the player cannot intervene at all here.

It’s kind of brutal, but it’s no “No Russian,” and it’s also pretty on par with something you’d see in a summer blockbuster. Anyway, watch it for yourself and let us know what you think.

I still find funny why people get upset by this, its just fiction yet there are movies with worse and nobody worries but when its a game everybody comes rushing with pitchforks and torches.

1. white box truck rental cost about $250
2. virtual fertilizer less than $500

Pulling a Timothy McVeigh, and killing a little girl and families in London for MW3 shock value sales…priceless.

Edgy? Pfff been there seen that.

I couldn’t see the girl’s body in the aftermath, which made it hard to maintain my initial erection.

IT JUST PORTRAYS THE ILLS OF WAR. IN MY OPINION, ITS NOT OFFENSIVE NOR RACIAL BUT RATHER EDUCATIONAL.

How dare a video game show the real violence that occurs during terrorism and war, Shame on video games on warping my innocent childlike mind and making me see something that occurs all the time in real life.

Activision sales manual:

666. If the game still sucks, kill a little girl

There’s a dead pixel on my screen. Oh, wait, that’s just its leg…

I don’t mind the scene and don’t find it controversial, but it is annoying because they only put in to cause trouble, as PC gamer puts it, “It’s crude, leering, pathetic, terribly written, and a cynical attempt to court headlines.”

I’ve been a gamer all my life and played all sorts of games, and up to now all the MW/COD varieties, but even I find the crass use of this to sell a game and think it’s acceptable by the games makers and publishers to actually be quite abhorant.

They know their game is played by under age kids, they decide not to take responsibility and they feel only this level of misguided so-called realism is what makes or tells a good story? Activision you are responsible and have sunk to a new low. Your not edgy, it was a really dumb thing to do.

If people think this is bad, then watch The Big Boss. There is a dead 6 year old with a knife through his back.
