Modern Warfare 3 Glitch Removes Recoil From Any Gun (VIDEO)

Robert Bowling and the rest of the devs over at Infinity Ward are already on the case when it comes to the glitch shown in the video below, but until they get around to patching Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, you can enjoy some recoil-free gunplay against your enemies online.

The glitch is actually rather simple, requiring you to play as a sniper with the Quickdraw perk. Watch the video below, care of Tom2411 (and originally discovered by Ryan915HD), which demonstrates what you have to do — in a nutshell, pull out your sniper rifle, go prone, zoom in and then switch guns. When you stand back up, you’ll be able to shoot everything free of your gun bouncing around.

We don’t condone you actually using this glitch on other people (seriously, don’t be a dick), but I expect it’s rampant online right now. Bowling said on his Twitter feed that it’s being dealt with, but exactly when we can expect that patch isn’t clear yet.

I hate when people use glitches and stuff

Im actually disgusted right now. I come to this site multiple times daily just to see if anything new popped up. I like most of the articles, including yours, Phil. My problem, is why would you post a glitch on a public website so that everybody who has the urge to cheat, has a prime example of how to do it. The game is VERY competitive and already it has problems with lag and people in general camping and quickscoping (which isnt cheating but in general is frowned upon).

It shows very poor taste on your staff, and you for actually approving this being posted. Regardless of whether they are fixing the bug or not, now I dont even want to play the game because its obvious everyone will be using this bug.

I’ll own that — you’re right, we’re kind of showing everyone how to cheat, and I’m not a fan of glitches. But the thing about MW3 is that when one person exploits a glitch, it’s massively unfair for other players. This one is so simple (and becoming so widespread), that I’d argue withholding the knowledge of how to do it when it’s so easy and widely used is also irresponsible. If a player who doesn’t have this knowledge goes up against one who does, they’re at a very unfair disadvantage. If EVERYONE knows the glitch, or at least more people do, it evens the playing field.

At the end of the day, though, this is so easy to do and likely to be used by so many players, that it’s on Infinity Ward to get it fixed IMMEDIATELY. Hopefully by spreading the glitch out there, it’ll help light a fire under them to deal with it. That might be a stretch, but this is super-easy information that’s readily available, and thus I don’t think I’m necessarily responsible for destroying MW3 by posting it. If it weren’t incredibly easy to do, I might feel differently.

Yeah they’ll fix that one IMMEDIATELY, but just scan Youtube for undetected no recoil and aimbots, depending on the platform that problem will still exist.

MW3 hax destroyed itself, super-easy Russell.

I didn’t realize you posted with that intention, sorry if I came off a bit sour. I have been having a problem lately with MW3, not with hacking but in general me getting the first shots off, dying and my shots not even being registered in kill-cam, while actually getting hit markers on my end.

I play on the xbox 360 and I really dont notice anyone cheating, I honestly would never have known people were doing that. Dont get me wrong, I have my good days and bad days on MW3 but most for the most part I am good with the exception of my bullets not even registering.

You’re not wrong to be upset about the availability of cheating. MW3 can get pretty upsetting when everything’s perfect — I still tend to scream at the TV a lot — and when people cheat it’s even worse. So yeah, I don’t blame you for being annoyed with the post. I did think about it before I wrote it. But I felt like this is the kind of thing that bringing attention to might help it get fixed rather than help make things worse.
