Modern Warfare 3 Launch Night Around the World – In Photos (PICS)

From Australia, to France, to San Francisco and beyond, gamers the world over stood in extremely long lines tonight to pick up their fresh copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3–which analysts predict will dethrone 2010′s Black Ops as the biggest entertainment launch in history. It’s kind of a big deal.

The official Call of Duty Twitter has been posting launch night photos all evening, so we thought we’d gather a few select images to put the event in perspective.

Sorry, PC gamers. Steam locked you out of playing Modern Warfare 3 until 8 AM tomorrow morning. But look on the bright side: if you were unsure about calling in sick tomorrow, that should sort of seal the deal.
