god i hate to say this but as good as this mod is, these textures don't do it any favors

they make this mod feel so incredibly detached from its prequel and the entire half life storyline

I honestly see that as a good thing. Black Mesa has been done to death and the Poke646 and Nightwatch textures are a real breath of fresh air.

To be honest, I can see your point. The Nightwatch/Poke646/Vendetta textures are of so much higher resolution that they dwarf the vanilla textures. However, they were also so much more fun to play around with.

Thanks for your honest opinion though.

I really enjoyed this mod! The background sounds, scripted sequences, it is all amazing. Only downside is that rooms are very big compared to HTC maps, so combat is a lot easier. Well... in this community filled with un-funny mess-up mods this is more than we need to believe in serious things. Thanks you Forsete for sharing your great work!!!

      Thanks man!

Yeah, I think I exaggerated the size of certain rooms especially the main hall in the final map (not a fan of that map at all to be honest). Big sized rooms are usually hard to detail let alone balancing the gameplay. More annoyingly enemies refuse to engage the player from a certain distance so you can easily snipe them from afar.

Half-Life 1 was certainly made for smaller scale rooms and corridors. If you make them too big the player can cheat the AI too easily.

LOVED this, it's sudden release took me by surprise as well! I miss that delightful sensation from the modding scene!

Adored the stupid amount of detail in the maps, and the enemy placement kept me on my toes for the entire session.

Have to admit, the Scientists had some damn good taste in FPS's ;)

Thanks man, glad you liked it.

I'm a big fan of surprise releases and generally don't like to hype up my stuff with screenshots and trailers. Just release it when I think it's good enough. :)
