Black Mesa

Half-Life 2 mod |

Run. Think. Shoot. Live. Source. Black Mesa is the Half-Life 2 total conversion of the original Half-Life game. Utilizing the Source engine and its endless array of possibilities and powers, Black Mesa will throw you into the world that started the Half-Life continuum and introduced Gordon Freeman to the world as a gun-toting, bullet-dodging Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics.

The problem here is that this is not done as a "hobby" anymore. People paid money for it. In advance. The fanboys should no longer use the abused "For christ's sake, these heroes are doing this in their spare time and sharing it for free, you ungrateful bastards!". Nor does the argument I often read: "Would you rather have a very buggy piece of software?" as if it was implied that to release some software that is not full of bugs it is normal to have a development date of many years. Come on, those are just lame kind of excuses. Said that, Black Mesa is a great game and I am still glad I've given my small financial contribution to support its development.

Beautiful game and looking forward to the finished product. Too bad the developers/admins are such holes on their forums. Unless your forum post has to do with how beautiful the latest update screenies are etc. you are off topic and threatened with a ban...

    Hey

I now have the paid version, unfortunately, it's very dark, if I load a savegame, it's light but you see it slowly getting dark, suggestions?

    Greetings

Weird issue and not sure, but I'd update drivers and if thats not enough, than reinstall the game completely.

        Found it:

Open Options -> Keyboard -> Advanced-> Enable Developer Console.

        In there

        Submit:

        mat_hdr_level 2
        and
        mat_tonemapping_occlusion_use_stencil 1

You have to do it every time again, except enable Developer Console off course.

I have saved it myself in my hotmail so that I can easily cut and paste.

        Greetings.
