what version of Blitzkrieg mod do you have? what version of historical addon do you have? i remember you having a lot of problems with COH due to bad installation or version of the game, you need the new steam "company of heroes" (NOT THE LEGACY VERSION), the Blitzkrieg mod Version 5 from Steam, and the historical addon V2.4.0. in order to play the game without any problems.

If you don't have the latest Blitzkrieg mod version 5 from the Steam store, but the old version of Bk (Version 4.9.8) you also can use historical addon but only with the V2.3.1-C version available for download here as well.

If you have any doubts about your installations as before, Check the integrity cache of COH from steam (library right-click on BK mod -> properties -> "Local files" tab -> "verify integrity of game files" button) And reinstall Blitzkrieg and historical addon.

Because bk mod has been updated to 5.2 you need to get the latest steam version of bk mod.

Would it be possible to replace the temporary, munitions-costing timed HE shell option for the tanks that have it with the free toggle instead? I find the temporary are fairly useless as you don't get enough bang for your buck - it's easier and less costly to just fire AP shells at a building or soft target.

I think timed HE rounds are already more than enough, specifically when also keeping in mind that there are absolutely no handheld AT weapons for infantry squads in Afrika except sticky grenades.

High Explosive shells in Blitzkrieg are very efficient, and some units who has timed HE abilities aren't meant to kill infantry, but to destroy tanks units, like tank hunters iirc.
So its kind of logic to have that for balance reasons, you can use units who are more dedicated to deal with infantry in Blitzkrieg like the first Sherman M4 with the 75mm, the Panzer IV or in the Panzer III with their infantry support 75mm short gun, they are specialized to support the infantry with locked HE capabilities, but they are usually more light and have less armor, except the M4 Jumbo who has a lot of armor in Blitzkrieg.

20mm guns anti aircrafts units, 75mm field short guns, light 20mm guns armored cars, or even mortars are excellent against infantry hiding in buildings.

Can I ask a question? I've been trying to edit other mods for learning purposes to try shifting things here and there to see how they work, however, whenever I unpack the attribut SGA file , and edit some stats, and the repack them again, it always gives me a Fatal AI Error after I load up a match.

Any idea on how to fix this issue?

you can't do that, you have multiple files who are connected in multiple archives (.sga) and you also have A.i. , Scar settings connected to it as well, don't do that, you'll get fatal errors everytime you're trying to change some settings.
Ìts like you're breaking a connection between all those working files.
