This adds the Night Lords as a new playable race to Soulstorm in your skirmish and multiplayer games. Night Lords are a chaos space marine faction who use terror and ambush as their weapons whilst largely shunning daemonic powers.

      Aren't they the default bolts of the CSM? Have the FX been changed somehow?

      I agree that the projectile rate is so high that you see a stream or a ray rather than proper bolter shots

        I don't know if the tracer propreties can be changed only with corsix, maybe OE it is needed, I don't know...

    I've played them and they're easy to play, because at this point you're familiar now with the marines stuff. It's good to have a renegade flavor with versions of the loyal marine vehicles.

    The NL summarize as space marines with a penchant for jetpacks, demoralizing and infiltration; and the mod provides it.

    Strenghts:
    - jetpack scouts infantry as the tier 0
    - passive infiltration using cover (I don't know if the AI is smart enough to handle the cover points of the terrain though).
    - Simple approach at the beginning, then they shine with the specific researches at the "geneseed" building.
    - Abilities for demoralize
    - HorusHeretic models are nicely made, particularly the dreadnought.
    - Good detail (intentional?) in the dark eyes of the marines, because Nostroman people have them like that.

    Weaknesses:
    - A little mix of styles in the vehicles, some with edges other without.
    - The approach is simple, perhaps too simple and related to vanilla SM codex, however the specific researches distinguish them. With marines is all you can get thought, flavours on the same topic.
    - The taskbar is borrowed and it should be a specific one
    - I didn't noticed any FX related to lightning (or have I missed something?). The NL seems that they get electricity in their armour when they fight. The suggested deepstrike idea from another comment could have this FX instead of warp.

    Maybe a updated release can contain some goodies in these terms.

      Concerning the AI and covers, yes, we can make it utilise them - and in a nasty way.
      Given time, I will look into it.

        so mean..

        I never thought the engine was so smart to take care of the cover spots of a map and act accordingly. Was the default AI ever able to do that?
