Follow 103

CoM started as an unofficial port of Misery 2 to Call of Chernobyl but has since gone on to add its own features and changes. There are now many addons for CoM itself, most of which are released in Russian. This mod has CoM and some of the popular addons for CoM along with some of the translations for them. Credit will be given in each mod and addon to the creators and translators.

Dont get me wrong i love the difficulty of it its partially what attracted me to it. but its a bit much. i have been trying for hours just to get around one single area. when a bandit can shoot you dead in two shots from what seems like miles with a pistol there is a problem. even behind cover and they face the opposite direction im spotted from insane distances and killed immediately. it needs a difficulty setting put in place

Seemes Everyone is missing the point here. let me say i have over 220 hours on the old misery mod im not new to this. i cant get any weapons because i cant make any money cant walk around with other stalkers because i have no friends and again being shot by bandits from miles away with a pistol. through bushes and everything where i couldn't be spotted. left the rookie village and was shot by someone way off through a field past trash compactor and everything. a spec on the screen. ill try a diferent starting location or faction i guess

I don't know man.. I started as Military.. in Cordon.. and still managed to do it, despite basically everyone there wanting to kill me. I never experienced Bandits one-shotting me from 500m away with a pistol or any such funky stuff and I always play on Master, so don't really know what to tell you.

Heh, who knows? Strange are the Zone's ways, eh? Main thing is things are working as intended now :D

Here's a pro tip.. you want to.. especially at the start.. play like it is you out there and not a character. What do I mean? You want to play SMART. If you can get yourself a silencer and attack stalkers at night, you will pretty much never get caught, alarms won't go off and you'll be able to really easily pick apart even veteran squads.. heck, I cleared the entire Bar as a Merc in my starting gear with not much difficulty using a mix of this approach and high ground. Later on, you'll get better gear but still you can never get too cocky.. and remember, always make sure if not using a silencer (which you should be) to try and kill guys as quickly as possible, otherwise the last guy around will always call in more reinforcements.

I murdered half of Duty at their base and i didint even get spotted. I hid the bodies and sold their loot. I love silencers in STALKER

The start of Misery is always the hardest part, but once you get the ball rolling, things get tremendously easier eventually to the point where it seems too easy. At the start, its best to just walk around with another group of Stalkers, loot whatever they kill including mutants, and find as many stashes as you can. Stashes are basically free money. It may seem daunting at first, but if you keep with it, it gets very rewarding.

Yeah, your starting armor is really the limiting factor. I had the same problem running around in the starter loner coat, where even dogs could kill me in a hit or two. Once I upgraded to a proper clear sky suit I barely take damage from most things unless it's a volley of assault rifle fire to the chest or something.
