More Info and A Pic of Valve’s Rumored Console
As we previously reported, rumors suggest that Valve is working on a Steam gaming console, with specs that allegedly include a Core i7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GPU. An anonymous tipster pointed to the Twitter account of Valve employee Greg Coomer, where a picture was posted on November 2nd, 2011, with the following caption:
Built this tiny PC. i7 quad core, 8GB ram, Zotac Z-68 mobo w/ onnboard Nvidia mobile gfx. Runs Portal 2 FAST.
i7 CPU, 8GB RAM, an NVIDIA GPU… coincidence? Perhaps. The Xbox controller in the picture sure is suggestive, but ultimately, this speculation proves nothing. While this may be a prototype for this alleged console, it could also be a completely unrelated project, or even a hobby project.
Valve has yet to comment on the rumors.

Yes Valve, take this step and delay even more cloud gaming, so this crepitant console market keeps alive for another year.
