More Mass Effect 2 DLC Coming Next Month
If you thought Bioware was done putting out Mass Effect 2 DLC, you were definitely wrong. Coming in June (no date has been set) for the Xbox 360 and PC is the Overlord premium downloadable content pack. Why is it “premium?” Because you have to pay for it. Details after the jump.
For $7/560 Microsoft or BioWare points, you will get “five new areas and two new achievements,” says EA’s press release. The full description from the release is as follows:
“In Overlord, players will take Commander Shepard and his crew to investigate a Cerberus research base that has mysteriously gone silent. They arrive to find that Geth troopers have overrun the base. The sole survivor paints a dire picture: an experiment to fuse a human volunteer with a virtual intelligence has created a dangerous hybrid VI Overlord. The rampaging VI Overlord has already attacked three other Cerberus bases, taking control of any technology it findsand unleashing hostile Geth across the planet in the process. Unless Shepard can infiltrate the VI’s fortress and shut it down, this homicidal intelligence will beam itself off the planet and wreak havoc on other systems throughout the galaxy.”
I for one really dig this idea, mostly because ME2 could use another reminder that Cerberus is a really douchey organization, and this reminds me of some of the sidequests from Mass Effect that caused us to start hating Cerberus in the first place. So we’ll be waiting eagerly for this one.
