Mortal Kombat (2011) Secret Battles

Secret Battles in Mortal Kombat are something of a tradition, dating back to Reptile’s first appearance in Mortal Kombat II. Seven direct sequels and countless other titles later, Mortal Kombat (2011) provides four Secret Battles hidden within its regular kombative kontent. You’ll have to be in Arcade Ladder mode to make these work. Check them out, below.

Secret Battle #1 – “You Found Me!” – When fighting Shang Tsung, get a double flawless victory and finish him with a fatality. You’ll unlock the “You Found Me!” achievement/trophy and get to battle Jade.

Secret Battle #2 – “Brotherhood of Shadow” – You’ll need to be fighting on The Temple for this one. If you see Noob Saibot appear in the background, win the rest of the match without using the block button. You’ll then get to battle Noob, and unlock the “Hide and Seek” achievement/trophy.

Secret Battle #3 – “Pit Master” – This one is the true throwback. While fighting on The Pit (Night) stage, watch for a witch or Santa Claus silhouette to pass across the moon. Once this happens, you’ll have to win with a double flawless victory and finish with a fatality. At this point, Reptile (in his classic costume) will appear, loaded for bear, and you’ll unlock the “Pit Master” achievement/trophy.

Secret Battle #4 – “Hide and Seek” – On The Living Forest stage, keep an eye out for Smoke hiding among the trees. When you see him appear, hold down and mash the Back button (the controller button, not back on the joystick/d-pad). You’ll face off against Smoke, and unlock the “Brotherhood of Shadow” achievement/trophy.

I love how you admitted that you fail in two of these videos and you have to switch the brotherhood of shadow and (hide and seek)

Ok, so I was playing on the desert level, and found something weird, at the very far right of the screen, in the sand, I saw what looked like cyrax buried half way into the sand, trying to get out, but he looked different, as if he was a prototype of the one we know now that we can play as. Now, I don’t know if it is just for show or what, but I went in on practice mode and he was not there, so please, if you guys read this, next time you are playing on ladder and come across desert, try to check it out for me, maybe it is another secret battle, maybe I dont know, but it also might be one of those “see it every ten times you play that level” kind of thing, like with smoke and his secret battle, so don’t go and call me crazy just because you don’t see it the first time. Send me some feedback please, thanks.

@Matt hope you get to see this, but Cyrax being stuck in the sand is simply a reference to mortal Kombat 3, when you win the arcade mode as Cyrax, he gets stuck in the sand waiting for orders from the Lin Kuei, just a reference, nothing more

Good info. Like the gameplay footage. There are 4 hidden kombats here and 5 “Hidden” trophies/achievements. What would be nice is when you DL the Klassic costumes you got the Klassic moves too. Reptile and smoke have different/more moves when you fight the secret Kombats. Just a thought. Good video and thanks for shareing it. Kudos.

Great videos, but I do have one problem. Reptile’s first appearance was in Mortal Kombat, not Mortal Kombat II. He was first playable in II, but you could fight him in a secret fight (the same exact secret fight that’s in the new Mortal Kombat) in the first Mortal Kombat.
