Mortal Kombat Will Have "Most Robust Online Ever," Says Dev

Mortal Kombat 2011′s lead designer John Edwards recently bragged about the game‘s online mode in an interview with Gaming Union. Here’s how he described it:

“We have a really robust online system. I can’t go into too many details but…” (here it comes) “…it’s going to be pretty much the most robust online fighting game system ever imagined. Just look forward to it.”

Wow. That’s a very big claim. What we know so far of Mortal Kombat’s online modes:

  • Tag team mode. 4 players, 2-on-2
  • 2-player online co-op “Arcade” mode

This sounds cool, but is surely not what Edwards was referring to. But we’re interested to see what this new robustness is all about, so we’ll keep you posted.

By the way, if you haven’t seen the brutal announcement trailer for Mortal Kombat yet, check it out.
