MSI Reveals New Gaming Laptop With GTX 580M Inside

The Razer Blade gaming laptop seemed like a good idea, I guess, when it was announced last year. It seemed like a pretty powerful little thing, with its GTX 555m and i7 processor and stuff, and its neat interface. But at $2,800 it seemed a bit steep. And today it seems even steeper, because MSI has one-upped the hell out of Razer.

Here’s what the two models of the MSI GT783 have inside:

Intel Core i7 2670QM
GTX 580M with 2GB GDDR3
17.3″ Full HD, anti-reflective screen
12gb DDR3 RAM/16gb DDR3 RAM
2 750gb HDDs/1 128gb SSD and 1 750gb HDD
Blu-ray disc burner

GTX 580M? That alone makes this worth a hell of a lot more than the Razer Blade. But how much will this set you back? Well, the GT783R, which is the slightly lesser of the two models, will run you $2,299. And the GT783 will run you $2,499. Both of those prices are, of course, lower than the Razer Blade, and I’m not sure if an extra $500 is worth it for the cool interface if you’re getting a machine that won’t last you as long.

You can get this thing this week.
