Multiplatform Titanfall 2 is “in the Planning Stages” (RUMOR)
A source has told The Wall Street Journal that Titanfall 2 is real, and is in the “planning stages.”
One of our E3 predictions may be coming true, if an article on The Wall Street Journal is to be believed. A source told the publication that a Titanfall sequel is in the works at Respawn Entertainment, and that it will be a multiplatform title.
During EA’s financial call last month, they confirmed that they had closed a deal with Respawn for a sequel, and it sounds like it’s already in the works. The fact that it won’t be a Xbox One exclusive is a bit of a surprise, although if Sony maintains its lead in the market, we may see more companies moving games to multiplatform.
Regardless, it’s not certain that we’ll see Titanfall 2 at EA’s presser today. If the game is truly “in the planning stages,” there can’t be much of anything to show. Still, I wouldn’t rule out a CGI trailer similar to the one we saw at last year’s Microsoft presser for Halo 5. After all, EA did say that they have six new titles to show off at the show.
