Naughty Dog Wants Uncharted 3 to be Playstation 3 Multiplayer Standard

I don’t really think “Uncharted” when I think of multiplayer games — but Naughty Dog wants that to change.

According to Uncharted Central, Naughty Dog wants Uncharted 3 to be the “go-to game for PS3 multiplayer,” which you can expect means the developer is putting a lot more effort into it than it did in Uncharted 2.

Naughty Dog admitted the multiplayer in Uncharted 2 wasn’t really fully formed — mostly because the developer didn’t have time to put a lot of effort into it. So if it wants Uncharted 3 to be a big deal on the multiplayer front, it’ll likely mean more dev time going into that aspect of the game. Apparently, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Red Dead Redemption are inspirations for the game.

Not to be a total naysayer, but as someone who doesn’t really care about great single-player games having a multiplayer mode, I’m hoping Naughty Dog doesn’t divert time away from the single-player campaign for the sake of multiplayer.
