NCsoft MMOs Ring in the Holidays with Festive Events

December 15th is the kickoff for the first of the holiday events NCSoft has planned for its MMORPGs. Players can expect traditional events with fresh content as well.

City of Heroes leads off with its Winter Event 2008. City of Villains is also included because naughty players like gifts too. A festival atmosphere has already taken over Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, and will linger December 15th until January 4th, 2009. You can look forward to lots of goodies this year although you may still have to take your lumps of coal.

The Lineage II Saving Santa Event is next up running December 16th to December 30th. Players will face the nefarious Thomas D. Turkey to save Santa and Christmas.

Guild Wars‘ Wintersday 2008 event begins December 19th. The Eye of the North will be decked out for the Wintersday for the first time, and that’s only the beginning of new content planned for this event. Players will receive a special gift for attending the Wintersday Finale January 5th.

City of Heroes, City of Villains – Winter Event 2008

The City of Heroes/Villains players are in for some special treats. Heroes and Villains logging on between December 15th, 2008 and January 4th, 2009 will find a Frostbitten Badge and cool blue fuzzy earmuffs for their costumes. They’ll also be imbued with the powers of Holiday Spirit and Holiday Cheer while the celebration lasts. Stay online and take on the new Father Time mission or take part in the Ski Challenges.

Gamester’s gifts are likely to give you Trick or Treat flash backs. You never know whether you’re getting a cool temporary power or item or if you’ll have a fight on your hands. You can trade candy canes drops in to get naughty and nice auras especially for the holiday. There’s also a winter Universal Travel Power enhancement set good throughout the event.

Guild Wars – Wintersday 2008

Wintersday festival 2008 will give players a chance to vie for old favorites and new treats. Players can look forward to the traditional Grenth vs. Dwayna snowball fight as well as the familiar quests and prizes from Wintersday Past. NCsoft promises a host of new NPCs to hand out fresh quests and rewards. The Eye of the North will be decorated this year and PvP tournaments will also carry Wintersday themes.

Festivities start December 19th with the Ebon Vanguard’s Lt. Thackeray as organizer. The event ends January 5th with the culmination of the festival, the Wintersday finale.

Lineage II – Saving Santa Event

Old Saint Nick is in trouble and Santa’s helpers are recruiting Lineage II players throughout Aden and Elmore to help. Thomas D. Turkey is tired of being upstaged and has kidnapped the jolly old elf. Grab a Saving Santa Hat and challenge the villain to “turkey style” combat to free Father Christmas.
