New Arma 3 DLC Will Add Dungeon Master, ‘Zeus’
Bohemia Interactive wants you to play Dungeon Master in Arma 3.
In a press release this morning the studio announced that the upcoming Zeus DLC for Arma 3 will feature a new multiplayer mode in which players can take on the role of Game Master.
Inspired by D&D’s Dungeon Master, Game Master will observe the battlefield from a bird’s eye view and have access to a suite of tools that enable real-time creation, manipulation and/or expansion of mission content. The result, Bohemia says, is dynamic, unscripted gameplay.
“The best thing about Arma 3 Zeus is how naturally it fits within the game,” Lead Designer Karel Moricky stated. “Dynamic combat, massive islands, and editing features – it was all there. But now we’ve added an interface which gives players full control over the multiplayer experience. The Zeus system is pretty modular too, so community creators can easily use it in their missions. Or take it apart and turn into something completely different. There are no rules, only those you make yourself.”
The Zeus multiplayer concept works across all multiplayer game types, Bohemia said, and players will be able to work with or battle against Zeus. Notably, the new Zeus Game Master mode will allow Game Masters to create objectives, spawn units, and steer players across Arma 3′s massive maps.
The Arma 3 Zeus DLC will be free to all core game owners and it’s expected to arrive sometime in Q2 (April-June).
