New Battlefield 3 DLC Announced!

DICE and EA were full of news about Battlefield 3 at their GDC showcase. The Swedish developers lifted the lid on not one but three forthcoming DLC packs, though only one was explained in detail.

  • Close Quarters (June)
    • Focused on infantry combat.
    • Maps in the style of Operation Metro, forcing players to fight in the titular Close Quarters.
    • 10 new weapons.
    • One map, Ziba Tower, revealed. Set in a luxury hotel, this map was playable at the event. Check back for our thoughts when the embargo lifts on March 13th.
  • Armored Kill (September)
    • Focused on vehicle combat, as the name implies
    • Includes the largest map ever to appear in the Battlefield series
  • Endgame (TBA)
    • So secretive that only a few people know about it.
    • Seriously, that’s all they had to say.

Which are you looking forward to more? Up-close and personal, or far away and high-explosive?

So the next DLC isn’t coming until June? Thats pretty far away. I thought we would get something new before then.

Yes!! at least they are showing a schedule of map packs. I hope they release at least four maps per pack. I am looking forward to seeing the biggest map ever in the battlefield series.

Any clue how much it will cost? I got the first DLC for free, so I do not know how much it was really.

I am glad that they introduce new weapons AND maps. COD take notes!

Everywhere i look it makes it out only 1 map per dlc. If this is the case I wont buy unless very cheap. I would rather have multiple maps and less new guns. I only use the stock guns. And I hope there is a bonus for limited edition buyers…

Well, if the news included a Steam version I’d give a .

Faith in myself has been restored as I’ve successfully held out against EA on this one.

If you bought BF3 Limited Edition (was same price as the regular one) you will get all the DLC for free i think . Atleast thats how it was with BF3 .

Close Quarters, Not buying that crap. This is BF NOT cod.

I agree above, I could care less about more guns, we have more than enough already. Just give me MORE MAPS and more vehicles per map.
