New Crysis 2 Trailer Shows Off Multiplayer

The folks at Crytek are showing off a bit more footage from Crysis 2 at Gamescom. Today, it’s nearly four minutes of in-game multiplayer action.

Earlier this week, we got wind of the new release date for the game, and back in June at E3, we got our first look at gameplay footage.

This trailer reveals some of the details of the multiplayer as well. You can expect 6 different modes, 12 locations in New York City, 80 ranks to earn, and 60 nanosuit upgrades when Crysis 2 hits stores March 22 of next year.

If embeds aren’t your thing, you can download the trailer instead.

Do you just run around and shoot? What’s the strategy? It looks slick, and glossy, and boring.

The sluggish gameplay looks so boring. First thing I noticed was the controller instead of keyboard/mouse.

Looks REALLY sluggish, and how come no one was shooting at him even when he was dead infront of them…

This dude wouldn’t last a second in cod2.

The crysis 2 engine is nothing more than an updated Crysis engine. Bah. Though the game might be good.

I’m with you dude, it looks like every other shooter out there just different locations. The neck break was pretty cool though

anon,

Actually, it’s built on the CryEngine3 and that’s built on CryEngine2 which is built on the CryEngine… that’s how it works.

Already can tell people are going to be upset with the spawning system. See how that one guy spawned right infront of the player just to get killed? Lame…

graphically, it looks very nice. BUT: being crysis will no doubt require some ridiculously high specced machine to run well.
Not to mention… this does look like COD, BattleField Bad Company, Halo… etc etc etc..
It’s the same as ALL the other multiplayer shooters.

Why can’t they add more Quake like weapons, like rocket launchers, railguns, etc.!! It does look pretty boring, I did like bad company 2′s multiplayer a lot, this doesnt even look like it comes close. If its not going to be totally realistic, then go the quake route and at least make the weapons more fun!!

60 nanosuit upgrades! Cool. Realy very similar with Crysis Wars.
