New MW3 DLC Will Have “Things That Players Have Never Seen Before”

Modern Warfare 3 players should expect big things in 2012, at least if Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling isn’t just talking out of his multiplayer map. Talking in a COD Elite Video nabbed first by CVG, he revealed that the first scheduled MW3 DLC – yes, actual DLC and not just a map pack – drops in January. And he’s hinting at big things. “The way we’re doing downloadable content this year is unlike we’ve never done before. Not only in how you can get it – in content drops or choose for the collection – but also the type of content you’re getting.”

If that sounds familiar, it’s because he’s basically talking about the promised premium content for Call of Duty: Elite that we spent so much time talking about last fall. Even so, it’s a tantalizing hint that the Call of duty multiplayer experience is going to be vastly improved, at least for Elite Premium members. Alas, it’s only for Xbox, at least at first. That much was confirmed by an Activision spokesperson who told Computer and Videogames: “Today we informed the Call of Duty Elite Premium community that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Elite Content Season will officially kick off on January 24 for Xbox users. We’ll have more details about the entire 2012 MW3 Content Season in early January, so stay tuned for updates.”

Bowling has since followed up on all this via Twitter, posting a screenshot from the new DLC that you can see up top.

I’m pretty sure the plot only becomes incomprehensible and outlandish when you actually stop to think about it.
